Curt and Lin were married only a few short weeks ago in a beautiful outdoor ceremony on December 13, 2014 at the Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park, Colorado. They were surrounded by family, friends, and a great deal of laughter. It was a beautiful day!
As those from the Rocky Mountain region know a little too well, December can bring one of two things: 10 feet of snow and bitterly cold temps, or a beautiful, almost fall-like day. I am glad to say for Curt and Lin, it brought the latter. While clouds coated the sky, the temperature was perfect. Chilly, but perfectly still. No wind, no snow, just a wonder of the beauty in the mountains.
I met Curt and Lin several months ago for their engagement shoot. Lin had me a little worried saying that neither she nor Curt enjoyed having their picture taken very much. But this sweet couple soon found themselves at ease and slipped into the familiarness and comfort of each other. We got some amazing photos for their engagement shoot, but those pale in comparison to the beauty in their wedding pictures. As I went through their wedding photos, I marveled over the number of happy, laughing, genuinely awesome pictures we got. I can't script happiness or true love. No photographer can. It either happens or it doesn't, and the camera doesn't lie. Those smiles are real folks. I can't make that up. Look at the love. Look at the way Lin looks at Curt and how he absolutely adores her.
Curt's sweet daughters were there for the occasion. They were so polite and greeted me with a "yes m'am" at every question. Whatever Curt and Lin have done to instill that in them, they have done it right. Tears were shed from both girls at moments in the ceremony, which only speaks to the level of love and commitment that this family has found in each other.
So, to Curt, Lin, Hannah, and Grace, make laughter a priority. Make love your foundation. May you always remember your wedding day as a day of new beginnings, new love, new family, new traditions, new memories. Celebrate each day with the joy and smiles that I captured in your wedding photos. You two are awesome and I was honored to have been there to witness your exchange of love. Cheers!
