Mr. and Mrs. Bawden

There was no shortage of smiles and laughter as Annie and Nick exchanged vows in Estes Park, Colorado at the Black Canyon Inn on March 6th, 2015. Annie and Nick were surrounded by family, friends, love, and laughter on their special day.

I am always struck by a couple that can find humor and laughter in every moment of their wedding day. In that, I can see a genuine love of life, adventure, and love of each other. Even on this chilly day in the Rocky Mountains, this sweet couple exuded warmth and kindness to each other. Nick's dad was honored to have served as minister to his son's exchange of vows with his bride, and siblings from both sides stood as witnesses as Annie and Nick became husband and wife.

Annie looked beautiful in her ivory gown with her fur wrap covering her shoulders. Her boots fit perfectly with this vintage-y type wedding. I particularly loved her handmade flowers, made from burlap. Not only have I never seen something so unique and cool, but she gets to keep her wedding flowers forever. What a cool idea! Nick was calm and cool as her donned his bow tie, newsie hat, and suspenders. I think if I were to be married again in this day and age, my own wedding would be something similar, happy, vintage, simple yet elegant.

I loved being apart of the happiness of this day. It is always an honor to be in the presence of true love. So, to Annie and Nick I will offer this advice. Make laughter a priority. Make smiles a part of each and every day. Laughter never gets old and trust me, some young couple will one day cross your path and say, "I want to have a love like that, a marriage that is fun, silly, happy." You will inspire happiness wherever you go and infect people with your smile. It will always be a thing that others will admire and seek to find in themselves. Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Bawden!

Introducing the Dr.'s Palmberg!

Julie and Eric were married on January 31, 2015 in Estes Park, Colorado in a heartfelt and loving ceremony at one of the most beautiful locations that I have ever been to, St. Malo's Catholic Church, with the reception at Wild Basin Lodge.

I have known Julie for a long time, since she was a teenager. Julie's older sister and I are great friends and I hold this amazing family very near to my heart. Julie is not only a stunning young lady, but she is smart, loving, funny, and a truly fun person to be around. I have watched Julie turn into a a wonderful person, dedicated and devoted to her family and beliefs. She works hard, and loves deep. Julie is rooted in faith and family. She wore her mother's wedding dress, completely unaltered for this special day. It fit her perfectly. Her mom and dad both teared up at the sight of their baby girl wearing a dress that had been packed away for many years, but that was now being worn by Julie. I believe that if luck were to be stitched into every thread of that dress, she and Eric will surely have a marriage full of many years of love and laughter, just as her parents have had. In an interesting twist, Julie actually wore MY wedding veil. Her sister wore it in her wedding as her something borrowed, and keeping with her traditions and desire to have her family be apart of every aspect of her special day, Julie wore it too. It was an honor to know that I had a special part in that.

I only met Eric a short time before the wedding, but he is awesome! Julie and Eric are both dentists and met during their schooling, and well, the rest is history. Sometimes, there is a moment in time that I believe truly defines how a person feels about another. I watched Eric closely as the wedding ceremony began. Julie literally took his breath away as she entered the church. He gasped. His eyes filled with tears as he watched his beaming bride come towards him. This moment, this show of love and affection, is how I believe Eric loves Julie: deeply, in a breathtaking, stunning, tear-jerking way. As we took pictures following the service, I could hear Eric say very softly to himself, "Just look at her. THAT is MY wife. MY wife. She's beautiful…" and his voice would trail off as if he were lost in the wonderment of his new family, his wife, his love.

I found myself in awe of this couple. Their twinkle, their passion, their spark could be seen and felt as they floated around the room together. THIS is a good match, a good love, the way it is supposed to be. I would certainly say that Eric is one heck of a lucky man, but Julie too is lucky to have found someone who is caring and compassionate and devoted to her. I have no doubt that this couple will not only have many loving years ahead as husband and wife and maybe one day parents, but I pray that I will continue to be apart of their years ahead, just as I was on the day their family began.

So, to Julie and Eric I will say to you something that I really only say to my husband. I know you have found your person, so love who they are, rejoice in the good, and run to each other in the bad. Love what they stand for, what they believe and make sure that the other knows that no matter what comes your way, at the end of the day, it is your person that falls asleep next to you and wakes with you every morning. Your person will believe in you when you cannot believe in yourself, and they hold your every dream, so be kind and giving and thoughtful to each other, for the person who holds your dreams will also help them come true. Cheers to Dr. and Dr. Palmberg!
